Champion of drug addition, alcoholism and former First Lady Betty Ford’s funeral on Tuesday

Betty Ford, a champion of women’s rights and founder of the Betty Ford Center, died Friday afternoon of natural causes.  The family will have a private memorial service for her on Tuesday morning after which her remains will be flown to Michigan and will rest next to her husband the 38th President Gerald Ford.

Betty Ford is known for founding the Betty Ford Center after she overcame her own long battle with alcohol and painkillers.  The Betty Ford Center has helped numerous people including Hollywood elites such as Robert Downey Jr, Elizabeth Taylor, Jonny Cash, Lindsay Lohan and Kelsey Grammer.  Mrs. Ford did not attempt to hide her problems but rather triumph over them.
